A New Light

Posted by Magen McCue on

You are the light go the world- like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
- Matthew 5:14-16

Last week, we all welcomed new screens and projectors in the Sanctuary. A project totaling about eight months of research, bids, a demo and finally an installation. Aside from this behind-the-scenes process, you, as a congregation, made this install happen with your generosity. The Friday before the big reveal of the screens, we stood back checking out the final product. In the middle of the day, when before you could barely make out the slides and cameras, the Sanctuary now illuminated beautiful colors for the first time in years. A fresh light that reminds me of God’s light working in and outside the walls of this church.

As part of the Communication/AV Team, our job is to work behind the scenes to ensure the word of God is seen and heard. I am proud to do this every week within a church that is full of grace and love. A huge part of what we do revolves around our media volunteers. I wanted to take this opportunity to invite those who would like to serve in Worship on Sundays to reach out to our team to get connected. Sometimes technology can seem intimidating but I’ve seen what the people of this church can do and there are no limitations when God puts us in a position to serve. We let our light shine and give thanks and praise to our heavenly Father for the opportunity.

If you are interested in serving with us, you can reach me at No matter your tech ability, we would be honored to serve alongside you!
