An Outreach Update

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Church Family,

There were many transitions on the staff this summer, especially in the Outreach Ministry. Taylor Mooney has come over from the Student Ministry to take over most of the traditional Outreach Ministry areas, as the Director of Outreach. Steve Ryan has assumed the operations and facility responsibilities that Loren Ahnberg had before his retirement, and our relationships with the Westside churches, as the Executive Director of Operational Missions. Pauline Ramirez (formerly Rodrigues) is still keeping us all organized and working with reception, front door outreach and education relationships, as Front Office/Outreach Coordinator (She will be out on maternity leave starting next week). Pastor Reed is now the lead for Outreach, Operations, Facilities, Hospitality, Special Needs, College, and Young Adults.

To help our congregation love on our community, we need your help. We need people of all skills to help us plan, recruit others, lead projects, keep us organized, and be the hands and feet of Jesus. To do this, you don’t have to fit the typical “leader” mold. You just need the desire to serve your neighbors. Here is how and where we need help:

- We need people to foster our relationships with our school partners through teacher appreciation, mentoring, tutoring, food programs, partnering with PTAs, or just being present on campus.
- We need point people to foster our relationships with Christian Assistance Ministry, Magdalena House, Blueprint Ministries, San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries, and other organizations, by being the information conduit, recruiting volunteers, and planning service projects.
- On the Westside, with our church partners, we need a ministry development assistance. This can be anyone who has commercial construction project management experience, and people who can mentor church leadership in finance, human resources, and facility management.
- Finally, the foster care system is in crisis. We need people who want to love on foster families, partner with South Texas Alliance for Orphans and Child Protective Services, and open the church doors to different organizations that are trying to change the path for kids in our community.

We are looking forward to continuing to bring the Kingdom of God to earth with you all.

Love,
The Outreach Ministry
