Coffee & Coincidence

Posted by Rev. Ben Trammell on

Friends,

We exhaust our capacity for language when we try to describe God. We sing and talk about His power, His glory and His grace. Scripture is shot through with references to the beauty, justice and faithfulness of God. We don’t often talk about what an amazing conservationist we worship. I don’t have in mind the wetlands, forest, and waterways—though God clearly cares for them—I mean that the God we know in Jesus doesn’t waste a thing.

Recently, I was reminded that events and moments of our lives that seem random are not beyond the reach of God’s grace to redeem and to utilize for His kingdom. I went to a meeting of area pastors to have a cup of coffee and get to know other church leaders. DeeDee Sedgwick set up the meeting. Before we got started, she mentioned Blueprint was in a bind and needed prayer.

There were two groups coming to work with them over Spring Break, and they couldn’t share the space. Our Facility and Student Ministry folks responded quickly, making a way for us to host the group coming from Oklahoma in our space at University. It was such an honor to have Blueprint, a ministry born at University, once again launching into San Antonio to provide safe, dry and blessed housing for folks.

So remember this week, while it may just seem like coffee, a conversation or a coincidence, be open to the invitation of a God who can use anything and anyone to bring blessing and grace to our lives and the lives of those around us.

Blessings,
Ben
