Hello Church Family,

As the Outreach Ministry intern, my favorite experiences so far have consisted of helping families and children in need. Here at University, one of the ways we do outreach is by distributing resources such as food, clothes, and school supplies. I love working behind the scenes and seeing God work through me and through the generosity of our community.

This summer, we are blessed with the opportunity to host KinMart at University. KinMart is an event that provides kinship foster families with free school supplies. The unique thing about KinMart is that it’s more than just handing out backpacks stuffed with school supplies. Instead, each child gets to come to our church and pick out the school supplies they want. We hope this will be a fun and joyful experience for all those involved, and we hope that this event will provide us with the opportunity to love on and touch the lives of kinship foster families.

University hosts about 100 kids at KinMart each year. We will also be collecting school supplies through August for Impacto and school-age children on the west side. In total, we hope to provide more than 450 kids with backpacks and school supplies!

If you would like to get involved, you can sign up to volunteer during the KinMart event here. If you would like to donate new, unopened school supplies, you can find our Amazon list here which shows how many more of each item we need. You can also go out and buy school supplies from the donation list and drop them off at the church. Donations are being collected in the North Campus Lobby, the South Campus Narthex, and the Main Office. Donations for KinMart are being accepted through Sunday, July 17, but any school supplies donated after the cutoff will go towards Impacto and the west side.
