Outreach is Happening

Posted by Steve Ryan on

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

–James 1:27

Friends,

It has been almost a year since joining the Outreach Ministry team. During 2018, many awesome outreach opportunities occurred due to the prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness of the University family.  Sometimes it seems like this mission–minded church has no bounds. From next door to the far reaches of the world, this church is actively working with our neighbors and positively changing their lives with the love of Christ in ministries such as: foster/adopt, homelessness, refugee, military, education, disaster response, home repair, family–crisis intervention, and student and adult mission trips to places such as Senegal, Guatemala, Bogalusa, Uvalde and Houston.

One event that just finished, the Child Protective Services Giving Tree Party, was an all–church effort. It was impactful and spirit–filled. It would have never happened without the vision and dedication of one church member that saw the need three years ago.  Watch this Video Story to learn more.

If you have that call to serve our community, come visit with the Outreach Ministry team, and we can help you make a plan, get plugged in, rally others and make a positive impact for Christ.

If you want to keep up with outreach happenings, you can sign up for the Outreach Newsletter by emailing here, or read the previous newsletters here.

Peace & Love,

Steve Ryan
Outreach Director
