Pumpkin Season

Posted by Rev. Sarah Dennis on

The pumpkins are coming! The pumpkins are coming!

October is here, pumpkin spice is all around, and the University Pumpkin Patch is back. As many of you know, the Pumpkin Patch has been around for many years as a fundraiser for Student Ministry summer interns. This year we are changing things up just a bit.

As you might be aware, University has an extensive intern program for college students to spend the summer discerning if a vocation in ministry is something to which they are feeling called. They attend weekly classes with Sarah Reiter and Caleb Rogenthien (our awesome college/young adult staff) where they learn about ministry from clergy and lay people, have weekly check-in sessions, and are able to ask questions about church and life. And, they get to serve in one of our many ministry areas: Kids, Student, Outreach, Hospitality, Music, and the list keeps growing. This is an incredible program and one we want to promote and grow.

This year, the Pumpkin Patch will be a fundraiser for the entire program. The money raised will be used to fund the salaries of all summer interns at University. So, we invite you to shop the patch, work the patch, and tell all your friends about the patch!

If you would like to work a shift sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0f4ea9a82aa1ff2-pumpkin1

Or stop by anytime and pick up a pumpkin, or two or three, and support this amazing ministry of University.

Blessings,
Rev. Sarah Dennis
