The Day School's Joy

Posted by Amanda Nunneley on

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10

You may have seen the many Day School Chapel stories last spring. If you did, we hope you found joy and laughter in them. They were definitely not what we envisioned as a part of our daily life when school began last August, but it was a small way we could continue to connect with and serve families. As Michele and I teamed up with University’s AMAZING team of clergy, we found ourselves laughing and finding joy in the midst of the uncertainty around us.

This summer, as the uncertainty around us has continued, we have clung to the joy we find in Jesus and in being together on this mission we are blessed to be a part of. We have been working prayerfully and purposefully so that we may see the families and teachers we care so deeply about return to our hallways in the safest manner possible. And again, we find ourselves continually blessed by the clergy, Finance team, Communications team, custodial staff and all of the University staff that so willingly jump in to help the Day School.

As we prepare to open our doors in August and anxiously await the precious faces we have missed, the friendships with the teachers and the busyness of our days, we have joyful hearts for all that God has blessed us with during this strange time and all we know that He will continue to do in the days ahead.

If you know of a family that is interested in attending the day school, we serve 12-month-olds through First Graders, offer extended hours and will begin school on August 26. Reach out to Tracey at with any questions.

Blessings,

Amanda Nunneley
