2018 Senegal Mission Trip

Day 2

Posted by Karen Ryan on

We arrived in Dekar just as the sun came up. This time, all 45 bags went on top of our bus! This was Master Level Tetris, requiring strength, balance, and special awareness.

After lunch, the missionary, David, who is working with us this week, helped us change money from U.S. dollars to West African CFAs. We knew we could trust him because he was wearing a Spurs shirt!

Much of the late afternoon and evening was spent adjusting a wheelchair that was brought especially for this little girl. She’s a twin, born with clubbed feet. She is 7 years old, and until now has walked on her knees or been carried. Once the chair was adjusted to her exact measurements (a true group effort), she and her family received lessons on its safe use. Glory!

Dinner family style, Senegalese fish with American style fries. Yum!
