Audio/Visual Technician – (Full-time-40 hours,  Non-exempt)

University is seeking an audio/visual technician to provide technical support for live sound systems. Experience Needed: 3+ years. This support includes setting up, maintaining and repairing audio/visual equipment, configuring and operating computers, projectors, microphones, audio mixing consoles, and video equipment. Must be able to work Sundays. Pay is flexible based on experience.

Student Ministry Fellowship – (Part time -20 hours, non-exempt)

University United Methodist Church is seeking Student Ministry Fellow for the school year 2022-2023.

The preferred candidate for this position will be someone who:

  • Passionate about student ministry, desiring to help students know their importance in the Body of Christ and at University United Methodist Church.
  • Is a team player, willing to support the rest of the student ministry team whenever needed
  • Can work independently and operate as a self-starter.
  • Is committed to creating a space where all students feel welcome, regardless of the membership status.
  • Is dedicated to creating a ministry that allows space for authenticity, spiritual growth, and articulation/development of Christian life.
  • Is willing and able to imagine new possibilities for engaging students deeper into the life of Christ and the Church.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Being present for the student ministry staff meeting if possible (Monday’s 10am)
  • Being present for Sunday morning for Rally 9:30-10:30, Monday lunches 11:30-2:45, Tuesday open gym 4-6, Wednesday night programming 5:30-8, as well as other events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Additionally, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Prior experience serving in a student’s ministry setting.
  • Willingness to work with a diverse group of students
  • Familiarity with The United Methodist Church and its connectional structures.

Facilities (Custodial) Position - (Full-time & Part-time 29 hours, non-exempt)

University United Methodist Church currently has an opening for a Custodial position to include some weekdays and opening facility on weekends.

The successful applicant must be Christ-centered, able to maintain a safe and clean environment, have reliable transportation, custodial experience and physically able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. Responsibilities include opening facility on weekends, setting up and tearing down tables and chairs, using floor cleaning machine, and cleaning multiple areas of the campus. Kids Ministry Associate – Early Childhood Education – (Full-time, 40 hours Exempt)

University United Methodist Church currently has an opening for a full-time Kids Ministry Associate of Early Childhood Education.

The candidate should have a love for the Lord, children and families in line with the ministry vision.  The candidate needs to have the ability to oversee the care of children, manage a staff of caregivers, and maintain nursery classrooms. The candidate should be able to accommodate a flexible schedule and work with a team. This position will also have responsibility over other special events or trainings as assigned.

Child Caregiver- (Part-time, approx. 12-15 hours)

Kids Ministry is seeking part-time child caregivers. The hired applicant will work along side other caregivers and volunteers as needed. Childcare is needed primarily for children 5 years and younger but may also include children up to 11 years of age depending on the event/need. Caregivers are needed on Sunday mornings, weekday mornings and evenings, and for occasional weekend events. Training is provided but some experience in childcare is preferred. Helping Hands Day Habilitation Program – (Part-Time, Non-Exempt)

Helping Hands Day Habilitation Program is seeking to hire a part-time Direct Care Staff. Our goal is to assist adults (age 18 or over) with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in reaching their full potential as well as prepare them to integrate more fully into the community.

This position requires the oversight, teaching and training in the following areas: socialization, self-help, adaptive, employment development and individualized skills training for small groups.   

Primary Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am to 3pm (part-time 29 hours per week)

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screening
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be willing to obtain all necessary training required for all Direct Care Staff (including CPR/First Aid certification, seizure training, etc.)
  • Must have some experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills (for daily documentation on clients)
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds (in the event staff had to assist in lift/support client) and must be able to walk a great deal during the day
  • Must be able to lead and take direction

 Day School Substitute (Non-Exempt, Full-time, Non-Exempt Part-time)

University United Methodist Church currently has openings for Day School substitutes. Potential to work M-F 7:50 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. during the school year.

The successful applicant must be a person committed to Christ and His church with a love of children and their families, have a desire to serve in team ministry, be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or its equivalent.
