Day School Assistant Teacher (Non-Exempt, Full-time, Non-Exempt Part-time)
University United Methodist Church currently has openings for Day School Assistant Teachers M-F 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. during the school year.
The successful applicant must be a person committed to Christ and His church with a love of children and their families, have a desire to serve in team ministry, be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and have a negative T.B. test. Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or its equivalent. Summer Intern Program - College Age
Summer internships at University United Methodist Church are intended to help college students who are discerning a call to vocational ministry. Each internship will include a retreat and weekly classes, provided by our college age ministry, that are intended to encourage peer relationships and spiritual development. We can provide host homes if needed, unless you live locally and/or can provide your own living arrangements. Student Ministry– (4 Positions, Full Time, 40 hours- Exempt)
The applicant should be 2 years post high school graduation and have a love and passion for the Lord, students, and families. Interns will assist with planning, leading, and attending our Middle School and High School Mission trips in June and July. They will also rotate through teaching during our weekly worship service, Wednesday night programing, as well as lead Sunday morning programming for students. The intern team will be responsible for the planning and carrying out of 12-15 intern lead events spread out over the summer. They will also have shared responsibility of sending out a weekly email to all of our families and leaders.
Kids Ministry– (2 Positions, Full Time, 40 hours- Non-Exempt)
The applicants should be at least 1 year post high school graduation and have a love and passion for the Lord, children, and families. Interns will assist with planning, leading, and attending Vacation Bible School, and either early childhood or elementary age events throughout the summer. They will have large and small group teaching opportunities weekly. They will also have ongoing responsibilities to provide effective communication to leaders and families.
Recreation Ministry– (1 Position, Part-Time 15 hours- Non-Exempt)
Applicant must be Christ-centered, have a desire to serve kids, students, and young adults, and have graduated High School. Recreation intern will support other ministry areas with recreation needs as well as participating and organizing of open gyms throughout the week and help in the planning and execution of Basketball Skills Camp.
Outreach Ministry – (1 position, Full Time, 40 hours- Non-Exempt)
Applicant should be at least 1 year post high school graduation or in graduate school, have a heart for missions, and have a love and passion for the Lord. The outreach summer intern will lead the planning effort for a post-student mission trip event that focuses on getting the entire family active in local outreach. They will assist in outreach responsibilities with Middle School and High School Mission trips, and Vacation Bible School with a focus of understanding ministry logistical requirements, team building, and getting people excited about mission opportunities. They will coordinate with San Antonio ministries/charities to build the preliminary planning for monthly Outreach Workdays scheduled for August through November.
Coordinator Care & Community– (Full-time 40 hours, Non-Exempt)
The Care & Community ministry is seeking a new Administrative Assistant. This position will provide direct support to the pastors who oversee the areas of pastoral care and connecting visitors and new members with the ministries of the church. The applicant must be a person committed to Christ and his church and desire to serve in team ministry. We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills, good communication and strong relational skills, energetic and friendly. The applicant must have experience working with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn the church database program.

Maintenance Assistant – (Full-time, Non-exempt)
Qualified candidate will be motivated self starter that can work independently as well as a team member. General duties will include electrical – light and ballast replacement and general troubleshooting, plumbing – restroom fixture repair and replacement, general carpentry, irrigation, HVAC – general knowledge of various types of Energy Management systems and ice machines. This position will be from 8-5 Saturday through Wednesday. Nursery Caregivers – (Part-time, Non-Exempt)
The Nursery Ministry is presently seeking caregivers that are available to work a few weekday mornings weekly and also for Wednesday evenings. The time frame for the mornings is usually 9:00-12:30; Wednesday evenings is 5:30-8:15pm. Experience with previous child care is preferred, must be nurturing and appreciate the joys of working with young children.

FACILITIES (CUSTODIAL) POSITION (Part-time 29 hours, non-exempt)
University United Methodist Church currently has an opening for a Custodial position to include some weekdays and opening facility on weekends.
The successful applicant must be Christ-centered, able to maintain a safe and clean environment, have reliable transportation, custodial experience and physically able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. Responsibilities include opening facility on weekends, setting up and tearing down tables and chairs, using floor cleaning machine, and cleaning multiple areas of the campus.
