 Over the last two weeks, I have had the privilege of watching the day school come to life. The halls are filled with familiar faces, new faces and generations of families. The life that has filled the halls brings big emotions and big milestones for little ones in each classroom. There are teachers who have classrooms full of little ones adjusting to the change. There are classrooms with children eager to see friends and play on the playground. There are parents with anxiety as they leave little ones for the first time, and there are veteran parents out the door already. No matter what each classroom brings, these teachers take each day in with a loving and welcoming embrace that comes so naturally.

Undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful things to witness over the last several weeks has been the way each teacher has poured into their classrooms. They worked, reworked and diligently thought through each detail to be prepared for each child. Things were cut, laminated, cleaned and arranged to meet the needs of the little people that would soon fill it. There was amazing collaboration among teachers and an excitement to be together again taking on another year. Their work went beyond getting the classroom ready though. I witnessed them in prayer over their classrooms, each student and every family.

It is evident that the success of the day school is tucked behind each classroom door. The way they serve the families so well, the way they love on each student, the way they pour their heart into what they do is what makes University’s Day School so special.

These teachers are servants in every sense of the word. It is my hope you will thank them if you see them around University’s campus, and if you have family or friends looking for a place that will love their little ones well, that you will tell them about the teachers here.
