“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
- Matthew 5:16
From time to time we have a special project that we bring to the congregation to fund above and beyond our regular stewardship and budget. The increased use of technology over the past two years has included far more videos to be played in services, online, and through our app. We built a studio on the third floor of the Central Building. I am so proud of our amazing and creative team that found a way in the wilderness.
The fading projectors in the Sanctuary lag greatly in quality, to the point where we find ourselves asking whether a particular video will work if it is shown in the Sanctuary. While the Sanctuary was empty, we could work around the technology challenges, but the increasing in-person attenders have encouraged us to act on addressing this limitation. Upgrading both projectors in the Sanctuary, centering and enlarging the screens, and cleaning up the audio/video infrastructure will cost roughly $100,000. When broken down by the expected life of the larger projector in the proposed project, it comes to $5 an hour. That’s $25 for a Sunday of use, $125 for a month of Sundays, and $1,300 for a year of Sunday projections.
Lyrics to the songs we sing, text from scriptures we study, invitations to discipleship and testimonies of what God is doing in the life of our community need to be displayed in the brightest light. Please join me in giving a bit extra or perhaps for the first time to this project.
