Looking Back, Pressing On

Posted by Rev. Ben Trammell on

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Friends,

On a hike recently, I stopped and looked up the slope and thought, "Well, there is quite a bit left until I get up to the mountain top." Before I started up the hill again, I looked back and saw how far I had already come. I confess I was encouraged that I had come farther and climbed higher than I had thought.

For the first time since 2009, I can report that University paid 100% of our apportionments and had generosity in excess of our spending. We were also able to send $50,000 to Lydia Patterson Institute thanks to your incredible generosity at Christmas. Well done, friends. Well done.

We are not all the way to where God is calling us. We are not all the way up the mountain. But as 2017 gives way to 2018, we can look back and be encouraged that God has brought us so far already.

I am thankful for what God has done and is doing among the people of University. Thank you for your generosity, for inviting others to join in and for sharing the love of Christ with this community.

It is an honor to serve alongside of you. Let us press on to take hold of that for which Christ has taken hold of us.

Blessings,

Ben
