Remembering All-Saints & Beyond

Posted by Mary McKay on

Church,

As we move into our “Holiday” season, we start by remembering those that have gone before us on “All-Saints Sunday.” This is truly one of our most beautiful services that we have each year at University. We celebrate all those that had the courage, knowledge, and faith to step out of their comfort zones and make difficult choices. Yes, even some very uncomfortable choices.

This week’s services reflect our gratitude for what God has done and continues to do through His servants. We are so blessed to have this strong heritage at our church. The text of the song we will sing on All-Saints “We Believe” sings it best;

We believe in God Supreme,
Ever present, never seen;
God Most High who reigns above,
Father nigh, whose name is love.

We the Church, affirm our faith
In the triune God of grace;
Kingdoms fall and ages change;
Ever changeless, God remains!

We are all called to serve in the mission of Christ. Music is integral to Christmas. We invite you to prayerfully consider joining our voices to share God’s love and serve this season of Advent and Christmas. Rehearsals have begun and we need more voices to help us share in God’s mission. We will be singing about the “original” songs of Christmas. As we look at our Nativity scenes, let us be reminded that these ordinary people didn’t just have stories to tell; they had songs to sing, celebrating our beautiful family and church Christmas traditions.

If you are interested in a short-term commitment for Christmas, please contact Mary McKay at We would love to serve with you.

Blessings,
Mary McKay
